U11 Girls V Killavilla Our U11 girls played Killavilla this Saturday morning. This was our first outing this season and the girls looked like they'd been playing all year! There was only 1 goal scored here today and unfortunately we were on the wrong side of it. It was a high spirited encounter with both sides showing courage and skill. We had Lily Murphy in goals and if ever there was a top performance by a keeper then this was it! Lily must've pulled off a hundred saves, some of them incredible and it goes without saying that she kept us in the game! Another star performer was Maeve Quinn at centre back who done trojan work keeping the Killavilla girls out. Katie Hartnett and Molly O'Brien also had very solid games in the full back line and without this trio we would have been in more trouble. Caoimhe Manley and Kate McGrath played brilliantly in midfield with both girls getting on the ball loads and linking well with other girls. Carly Kenneally and Holly Fitzpatrick were also very busy girls playing super throughout. Katie Ryan and Callie Mitchell were trying hard to break through up the other end and came so close a few times. Killavilla were really strong here today and our girls were really up against it but at the same time we could have got a draw near the end but for a great stop by the Killavilla keeper. A special mention to Katie Hartnett, Kate, Caoimhe and Molly who had played an enthralling camogie tournament only last night. Huge credit to them for giving all they had today. We've a good team here so it's onwards and upwards! Many thanks to Killavilla for being good hosts!
