A tough day at the office for the u13 major girls team this morning as they made the trip to Clodaigh Rangers. Missing quite a few of the regular squad the 9 girls did their club proud but succumbed to an 8-1 defeat. It's not bias to say the scoreline flattered the home side as Ballymackey made quite a few good chances but just couldn't deliver the killer blows. Allanah O'Dwyer and Aisling Kennedy both narrowly missing the target in the first half. For some of the girls this was their first competitive action for the club and needless to say there was a steep learning curve involved. Despite trailing 5-0 at the break Ballymackey struck first in their endeavour to win the second half. A richly deserved goal for Anna Lee who provided a lot of good play on our left hand side. Jenna Hackett and Aileen Moroney played well in defence and the scoreline is no reflection on their performance. Rangers scored some fortunate goals late on to flatter the scoreline and ran out winners 8-1. Full team was: Ava O'Rourke, Jenna Hackett, Aileen Moroney, Siún Conway, Aisling Kennedy, Allanah O'Dwyer, Sadhb Connelly, Sarah Young and Anna Lee.
