U12 Girls V Lough derg Cup Game.
Our U12 girls travelled to Lough derg this morning to play in the 2nd round of the cup. We were up against a lively opposition here and the pace of the game gave us difficulties early on. We eventually conceded a goal and not long after we conceded another. It was 2 nil at the half time break and we had an uphill struggle ahead of us in the second period. Lough derg got a 3rd and could have had another 2 or 3 all things told. Our girls put in all they had and fought hard throughout. We had our own chances too but the Lough derg keeper was in good form and wasn't going to be beaten. Our panel today was Katie Hartnett in goals, our back were Lily Dunne, Clara Kennedy, Aisling Ryan, Kate England and Abbie Hogan. Our midfielders were Caoimhe Manley, Holly Fitzpatrick, Amy Keogh and Leanne Bergin. Upfront were Callie Mitchell and Maeve Quinn.
That's the U12 season over for these girls. They've been brilliant all season and have improved a huge amount.
Well done to Lough derg and best of luck to them in the next round. Thanks also to Cathal Murnane for reffing today's sporting game!
