Our U11 and U10's V Knigh utd. Both our teams were out this morning in Knigh. The U11's were first up and played a very competitive game against the home side. We were missing our regular keeper today so Katie Hartnett from the U10 squad stepped up and ended up having a super game between the sticks. We had our ever dependable back line of Kate McGrath, Anna Gleeson and Amy-Louise O'Dwyer. We had Sadhbh Kennedy, Katie Ryan, Carly Kenneally and Saoirse Haverty in midfield with Katie Ryan upfront. The girls battled hard the whole game but unfortunately we conceded a goal in the first half. We threw caution to the wind in the second half looking for a goal. This however didn't work our way and Knigh got in behind us for 3 more to finish 4-0 winners. Impressive displays from Katie Hartnett, Anna Gleeson and Kate McGrath. Lots of other girls improving each week too which is very satisfying. Our U10's were up next. We had 14 girls which allowed us two seven a side games. Team 1. had Katie Hartnett back in goals, Leanne Bergin, Callie Mitchell, Aoife Ryan, Holly Fitzpatrick, Elsa Fitzgerald and Cliodhna Maxwell. On Team 2. we had Sinead O'Meara, Maeve Quinn, Caoimhe Manley, Sally Mounsey, Sadhbh Kennedy, Kate England and Aisling Ryan. The first team lost their first game 2-0 and drew their second game 1-1. The second lost their first game 5-3 and also lost their second 4-3. Each game was good and competitive and you can see that the girls are improving by the week. Well done to all the girls and many thanks to Knigh utd for sporting games.
