U12 Boys V Nenagh
Our U12 Div 1 team were playing away to Nenagh today, Saturday the 30th.
This game turned out to be a very tight encounter with both teams going full on in a high press early in the game. This made sure the game was wide open for both teams to take advantage. Strangely enough it was nil-nil at half time despite numerous changes for both sides. We probably had the best of those chances and would rue the misses later on.
Aidan O'Gorman was in goals for the first half and was very solid giving us a good platform. Sean Ryan, Scott Powell and Myles Kelly Baumeistars were our solid back line giving nothing away. Oliver Duff, Paul Williams and Kian Kennedy were driving hard at Nenagh all throughout. We had Ben Delaney, Sean McCarthy, Neil Merchant also in midfield giving their all too.
The second half started with Nenagh pressing us hard and eventually getting through for a goal. They scored again 8 minutes later which was a sucker punch for us as we were getting close to the net ourselves. Credit to Ballymackey for battling hard they got one back from Kian Kennedy setting up a lively last few minutes. Unfortunately the clock ran down and we lost 2-1 but we learned a lot from the experience today.
It's this teams first loss so we expect to be back to winning ways very shortly!!
Well done to Nenagh.
