Ballymackey under 12 girls had a hard fought win 3-1 over kilavilla this morning. Ballymackey started the brighter and went close on two occasions before a breakaway by kilavilla lead to them opening the scoring. Kilavilla were well organised and made it hard for us to get back into the game. Ballymackey eventually got the equaliser when a loose ball in the box was finished by Caoimhe Cleary to tie the score, before half time Ballymackey took the lead when Olivia looby broke through to finish to the net. In the second half Olivia fitzpatrick began to control the midfield and kept ballymackey on the front foot. It was a tight game with kilavilla pushing for an equaliser before a good move from the back through Molly o brien and Lily kate kenneally found olivia loooby who broke through the defense to finish to the net. Ballymackey had further opportuniites to add to the scoreline but were unable to do so. Kilavilla kept plugging away and foreced a no of corners but resolute defending by Anna fitzgerald and Niamh Spain ensured no further goals were given up. It was a very entertaining game with some good football played by both teams.
