Ballymackey U11 girls V Lough derg.
The Ballymackey girls had a good mornings work done by 11am this Saturday morning. They defeated the home side Lough derg 3 goals to nil in an energetic match. Lily Murphy wasn't as busy today but that was no harm as she was too busy the previous game! One of the main reasons for this was Anna Gleeson, who simply refused to leave any Lough derg girl go by her today. She wasn't on her own though as Kate McGrath, Sadhbh Kennedy and Katie Hartnett were in also in good form. These girls combined very well together all day. Caoimhe Manley was once again brilliant around the middle causing loads of problems for the opposition and late in the first half her hard work paid off when she put the ball in the net! It was 1 nil at half time and our girls came strong again in the second half. Elsa Fitzgerald, Carly Kenneally and Aisling Ryan were playing good soccer in the middle of the park so too were our 2 Katie Ryan's and were keeping Lough derg in their own half for much of the game. We had Callie Mitchell upfront and we were thankful for her brilliant footwork in getting us 2 more goals!! It finished this way and we were very happy the win. These girls are improving all the time and their enthusiasm for the game is infectious! Many thanks to Lough derg for hosting us.
