Ballymackey u13 continued their league campaign with a fine win over holycross today. Ballymackey started tentatively but got the opening goal when good inter play between Mioda o Shea and Aoibhin Delaney ended with Aoibhin scoring the opening goal, further efforts by Alanah o Dwyer and aoibhe hassett were well saved by the holycross goalie. Mioda added two further goals before half time and with Grace Kilgannon and Abigail Armstrong defending stoutly to leave the half time score 3-0. In the second half ballymackey killed the game off with another Mioda o Shea goal followed by an expertly taken penalty by lily Kate Kenneally. Mioda o Shea scored a fabulous half volley from distance for her fourth and ballymackeys sixth of the game. driven on by some good through balls from Zarah Corcoran who was making her debut for ballymackey and Olivia Fitzpatrick who was controlling midfield ballymackey went close to further goals. Holycross found a second wind and went close to scoring but for some fine goalkeeping by Emma o connell and defending by niamh Spain.
