Great win for our U11 boys!! Ballymackey U11's played Knigh utd in Ballinree in glorious sunshine this evening. Between the weather and our groundsman the conditions were perfect for a game. Our team was Mathew Bergin in goals, Callum Ryan, James Mounsey and Colm O'Brien at the back and KJ Dunne in front of those. We'd Tomas Tierney, Sean McCarthy, Ben Delaney, Liam Kennedy in midfield with Dara Wyles and Cillian Hayes up front. We didn't play 11 a side so we rotated lads on and off. We got off to a flying start scoring 5 goals in 20 minutes. Dara Wyles was on fire scoring a hat-trick while causing major problems for Knigh. Cillian Hayes scored one as did a very busy Colm O'Brien. In fairness to Knigh they were unlucky to be down by 5 at half time because they were playing well enough. The second half saw Knigh come to life and before we knew it they had 2 back. KJ Dunne grabbed the game by the neck after that and scored twice to seal the game and then scored a third for a well deserved hat-trick. Tomas Tierney also got in on the act of scoring making it 9 for us. Knigh had scored a third in there somewhere too but our lads proved too strong on the night. Everybody played well for us this evening and it's a good sign of what's to come for this promising team. Many thanks to Knigh for travelling over and playing a sporting game.
