Ballymackey Senior Women had a great 4-0 home win against Shinrone Ladies in their first home match of the Tipperary Senior League. 21 Girls togged out in wet conditions and all turned in excellent performances. 2 goals in each half was a good return for the teams efforts. Joanne O Brien opened the scoring meeting Niamh O Brien's super cross on the half volley to score her first goal for the club.

Aoibhín Delaney put some daylight between the sides with a strike from distance before the break. We were into the last quarter before the game was made safe when Michaela Lillis who was tormenting the Shinrone defence crossed for Noelle Hassett to score her first goal for the club. Late on Kate Cavanagh capped a great performance with a low placed shot to the right of the Shinrone net minder.

Great team performance with lovely football been played throughout no matter what combination of players were on the field. It is a pity spectators are currently prohibited as this is a team that is definitely worth watching and they are great ambassadors for the women's game. Lots and lots of excellent individual displays, but our player of the match was Aoibheann Slattery with a colossal display at the heart of our defence.

Aoibheann Slattery turned in a dominant display in defence. Aoibheann Slattery turned in a dominant display in defence.
