Ballymackey Under 14 Girls had a terrific 9-1 win at home to Borrisokane. It was the girls best performance of their season. It took 20 minutes before we broke down the Borrisokane defence. With 35 minutes gone we were 3-0 up thanks to a hat-rick from Clodagh Daly and just before half time Maura Gleeson scored to make it 4-0 . A good start to the second half saw Maura’s second goal and Dara Bourke scores a great left footed shot. Maeve Cunneen then scored, blasting home from a tight angle. It’s was Caoimhe Delaney who scored next from an excellent solo effort and the goal of the game came from Ali O Kelly when she got on the ball in her own half and headed for goal with an accurate finish. Borrisokane had tested Mollie Ryan in goals several times and did score a well deserved goal with 10 minutes to go. The game finished 9-1 to the home team. Today’ squad consisted of Mollie Ryan, Chloe Whyte, Ciara Ryan, Lucy Gould, Emer Moroney, Maeve Cunneen, Dara Bourke, Ali O Kelly, Caoimhe Delaney, Orla Kelly, Clodagh Daly, Robyn O Dwyer, Maura Gleeson and Jane Ryan. Each girl played excellent today but Ciara Ryan was a deserving player of the game today. Well done Ciara.
