Ballymackey U18 Girls came out on top 3-2 in a tight away fixture in Killavilla. Ballymackey were fortunate to go in front at the midpoint of the first half as we had a sluggish start, but a fine pass forward found Kate Cavanagh who finished expertly. We were pegged back to 1-1 but took the lead again when Laura McCarthy was on hand to poke home after a scramble in the home box. Killavilla equalised soon after but we took the lead for a third time when Chelsea White scored cutting in off the left to curl home the winner. It was a tight affair we had a penalty saved after Aoibhín Delaney was bundled to the ground in the box late on and a Killavilla shot was inches wide soon after. The match was a great advertisement for girls football high intensity and lots of quality play from both sides. Anna Grace was super in goals with great handling throughout but she was just pipped by Chelsea White for our player of the match. Battling performance by all our girls with a few Girls pushing themselves despite being a bit under the weather. The afore mentioned girls were well supported by Caoimhe Carey, Miriam Murphy, Aíne Tuohy, Niamh O Brien, Chloe McAuiffe, Niamh Cunneen, Laura Bergin, Amy Bergin, Maria Moroney and Aoibheann Slattery
