Ballymackey u12b girls concluded their shield campaign today with a 5-0 win over Lough Derg B. The first half was even enough until half way through when Ballymackey started to get on top. The first goal came when Isabelle o Dwyer played a lovely through ball for fiadh kennedy to run onto and finish past the goalie, the second came when the roles were reversed and fiadh played a pass for Isabelle to fire home. Into the second half and ballymackey extended the lead when molly Anne Ryan played holly hogan through and she finished to the corner of the net, a few minutes later it was four when Isabelle o Dwyer got past a couple of players and finished low into the corner. The scoring was completed when holly hogan broke a ball in the box and Lauren Carey raced onto it to fire home. The girls put on a really good performance today, in goals Ava o connell was alert to any balls coming her way, at the back Emma rose Finnegan, lauren Carey, molly Ryan and clodagh young defended resolutely with clodagh also playing some lovely passes into the attack. In centre midfield carragh Tierney, molly Anne Ryan and Caoimhe Tierney controlled the game throughout. Out wide fiadh kennedy and Isabelle o Dwyer were a constant threat to the Lough Derg defense, up front holly hogan worked hard throughout and created chances for her team while also getting on the scoresheet.
