Ballymackey u12b girls welcomed arra to ballinree today for the shield semi final and the girls were unlucky to come on the wrong side of a 3-1 score line. The girls were on too early on and came close to the breakthrough but were then caught out by a breakaway goal by arra. Ballymackey thought the had equalised when fiadh kennedy finished to the net but it was ruled out for offside. Before the break fiadh and molly Anne Ryan came close to equalising. Into the second half and it was a more even game, arra grabbed a second goal, Ballymackey though the had a goal back when a Caoimhe Tierney free kick hit the post and rolled across the line before the goalie grabbed it. Arra got a third soon after but Ballymackey had chances through holly hogan and Isabelle o Dwyer to get on the scoresheet before isabelle broke through and scored. Best of luck to Arra in the final.
