Ballymackey u12b girls made their competitive debut today with a home game against Lough Derg. Made up entirely of the u11 team the girls gave a great account of themselves going down 3-1 for a finish. The girls were against the wind in the first half and under the cosh from the start. Lough Derg scored after 15 mins, Ballymackey came back into it and equalised a few minutes later when a Caoimhe Tierney free kick found the net, Lough Derg regained the lead a few minutes before time. Into the second half and conditions worsened but the girls stayed going to the finish. Lough Derg went 3-1 up not long into the second half to finish the scoring, Ballymackey came more into the game as the half wore on and were unlucky on a few occasions not to get a second. All the girls worked hard throughout the game against a very good Lough Derg team. Panel: Ava o connell, Greta Mounsey, clodagh young, Isabelle o Dwyer, Orla McGrath, carragh Tierney, fiadh kennedy, Emily Coffey, Ella grey, Scarlett Mounsey, Evelyn o Dwyer, Caoimhe Tierney and holly hogan.
