Ballymackey Women traveled to Mountmellick for their last away match and penultimate Combined Counties Football League Womens Division fixture of the Season. Ballymackey took the lead on 2 minutes, Amber De Lewis was fouled 25 yards out and Aoibhin Delaney dispatched the resultant free kick to the net off the underside of the crossbar. Christine O Keefe put some daylight between Ballymackey and their competitive hosts, running from deep on to a perfectly weighted De Lewis through ball to finish past the advancing keeper. Just before half time Lisa Toohey powered home a header from a Aoibhin Delaney corner to give Ballymackey a 3 goal half time lead. O Keefe added her second of the day in the second half, Amber DeLewis again the provider with another perfect through ball and  De Lewis herself closed out the scoring with a unstoppable curling free kick from just outside of the box. A great 0-5 win against a Mountmellick United side that were much better than the scoreline suggests, Ballymackey had to work hard from the first minute to the last in the match. Some quality play in the attacking third was the differance between the 2 sides. A great team performance with all 14 players who travelled contributing to the result. Chloe Whyte in defence, Christine O Keefe in midfield and Amber DeLewis with involvement in all 5 goals, had stand out displays and the player of the match was Lisa Toohey who was the driving force behind the team throughout.
