Ballymackey Women traveled to Offaly to take on Killeigh Rovers in Frank McEvoy Park. Amber DeLewis gave Ballymackey the lead and a Aoibhìn Delaney strike doubled the lead at the break. Ballymackey continued to create goal scoring chances but 20 minutes in it was the home side who scored the games next goal from the penalty spot following a soft handball decision. Ballymackey reached positively to their lead been reduced to the minimum and upped their intensity and started to play with more purpose. Christine O Keefe opened the lead out within minutes of the Killeigh goal and further goals from the dangerous Amber De Lewis and Joanne O Brien put the game out of Rovers reach at 5-1. Lots of good attacking football from Ballymackey especially in the last 25 minutes of the match as well as the goals scored, Joanne O Brien, Lisa Toohey and Karen Hogan all struck the crossbar. Sarah Quigley started her first game for the club, U17 netminder Ava O Rourke made her competitive debut off the bench, Kate Cavanagh had her first outing of the season, we had stand out displays from Lisa Toohey, Karen Hogan, Amber DeLewis and our player of the match Zoey Gratton. So all in all another positive day for the Ballymackey Women.
