U14 Boys Cup Final V Nenagh

Our boys took on Nenagh today in the Cup Final in Nenagh.
We were under pressure straight off and it took a 6 minute goal from Fionn Shaughnessy to settle us. This was against the run play but it has happened to us plenty so we'll take it! Nenagh kept up the pressure but we were now putting on pressure ourselves. The end to end first half finished 1 nil to us. The second half started with a high tempo also with both teams going at it. Nenagh drew level and it was game on again.  Shortly after that, we went back in front with a brilliant solo effort from KJ Dunne. It was 2-1 now and we were looking good to finish it out. Nenagh weren't going anywhere though, and they pounced again with not long to go. Full time finished 2-2 and it was extra time!
Both teams were going hard to win and avoid the dreaded penalties and it looked like penos in the last minute when James Ryan got on the end of a free kick from KJ to finish it to the net. It was game over, Ballymackey champions!!
In goals today was Conall Hartnett. Our back were James Hanrahan, Callum Ryan, Dara Wyles, Dan Daly, Liam Kennedy and Jukub Warmusz. Our midfielders were James Ryan, Fionn Shaughnessy, Donnacha Browne, Charlie Cummins, Colm O'Brien and Paul Williams. Upfront were KJ Dunne, Matthew Bergin and Ben Delaney.

The lads gave everything today and to get the win was massive for them, we've lost enough the last 2 seasons and today makes up for plenty!!
Man of the match today was everyone who put a Ballymackey jersey on! Unreal commitment from the lads all year!
Hard luck to Nenagh today who could easily be the victors.
Thanks to referee and linesmen also!
Up Ballymackey 💪
