U13 Girls V Moneygall

Our U13 girls hosted Moneygall this morning in Ballinree. This game was very close to the end with the teams evenly matched. Moneygall got the first goal after only 10 minutes of play. They were on top at this early stage and the goal was coming. Ballymackey got themselves into the game after this and had plenty of chances but just couldn't convert their attempts. We pressed hard in the second half and got our reward mid way through with a stunning free kick from our leader Anna Gleeson!!!
The game was now anybodies to win and both teams had their chances. At the very end in the dying minutes, Moneygall broke through our defence and Katie was left one on one with the Moneygall striker. The two girls collided just after shot which went wide but because there was contact on the striker, a penalty was given.
Moneygall scored from the spot kick and won the game 2-1.
We had Katie Hartnett in goals. Our backs were Holly Fitzpatrick, Eva Bailey, Maeve Quinn, Kate McGrath, Alicia Darcy and Molly O'Brien. Our midfield girls consisted of Anna Gleeson, Carly Kenneally, Lily Dunne, Elsa Fitzgerald, Emily Ryan, Amy-Louise O'Dwyer and Bethany Starr. Upfront today was Caoimhe Manley and Lily Murphy.
Standing out for us today Katie in goals, Molly and Holly at centre back. Kate McGrath was super at right full but it was Anna Gleeson who was the stand out girl today!
