U12 Girls V Killavilla
Our girls played Killavilla at home today in Ballinree in the lovely sunshine. The game started very lively with both teams trying to get on top. After about 5 minutes, Caoimhe Manley broke the deadlock with a super strike to the Killavilla net. We looked very strong at this stage and were doing everything right. Killavilla started heaping on the pressure from there and were getting on top when they eventually got their first goal. They scored a second soon after, and we knew we were in trouble! Katie was keeping us in the game with another solid performance in goals. Lily Dunne and Eva Bailey were standing out for us, too. Sally Mounsey was playing well on the right, linking up with Elsa Fitzgerald on the wing. Maeve Quinn and Callie Mitchell were linking up brilliantly at times, and we were unlucky not to have scored from their teamwork. Holly and Caoimhe were running from end to end, covering acres of grass and doing great work. The second half started badly for us as Killavilla had the ball in the net after 30 seconds. A fine solo effort from one of their girls. Aisling Ryan and Abbie Hogan gave us everything when introduced, so too did Leanne Bergin and Ciara Grimes. Eva Bailey was player of the match today.
Unfortunately, though, Killavilla had too much class everywhere for us to deal with and have left us with a bit of homework to do!!
Well done Killavilla 👏
Many thanks to Pauric Bergin for reffing today's game.
