Ballymackey u13 girls made the trip to Cloughjordan in the cup tonight and came away with a 3-1 win. In the first half Ballymackey played against the wind and the hill and took a while to settle, after about 10 mins the girls began to come more into the game and created a few half chances before taking the lead 20 mins in when Olivia Looby dribbled past the home defense to fire home. Into the second half and ballymackey were well on top and created numerous chances but a combination of poor finishing and good goalkeeping prevented Ballymackey scoring any more. With 7 minutes remaining Cloughjordan grabbed an equaliser. with no extra time in the early rounds of the cup it looked like penalties were on the cards however with four minutes remaining Charlotte Deegan raced into the box and fired into the corner, two minutes later Charlotte was on target again curling a right foot effort into the corner of the net. Isabel Ryan gave a great display in defense, in midfield Grainne Troy and anna Gleeson worked tirelessly throughout.
