Girls U13's V Moneygall.
Our under 13's played Moneygall this morning in a premier league fixture in Moneygall.
The game got into a lively rhythm with both sides displaying good fitness levels. It was end to end stuff and it was hard to know who was on top. There wasn't much between the sides a few weeks ago, Moneygall edging that one by a single goal, and today was more of the same. We started with Katie in goals, who had another fine game. Katie has been a rock for us in goals all season. Our back 4 were Eva Bailey, who was as tenacious as ever leaving nothing go by her!, Kate McGrath was right back and had another very solid game, reading the game really well. Lily Dunne was in centre and played her usual high energy game! Molly O'Brien was our sweeper and she was brilliant once again!
In midfield we'd Amy Keogh who is improving every game and is now an anchor player for us, nobody covers the ground like Amy! Elsa Fitzgerald was on the other wing and her energy knows no bounds either! Maeve Quinn was our defensive mid and played her part brilliantly, stopping anything that came her way. We'd Caoimhe Manley in the middle and played her usual all out game! Upfront were Carly Kenneally and Lily Murphy who gave us everything they had and were unlucky not to get a goal in both halves. Alicia Darcy played on the left wing most of the game and very good throughout showing plenty of guts!
Moneygall did score one on us but in fairness to them, it was coming. They probably missed another one or two also so we'd have no complaints here!
Our player of the match went to Molly O'Brien at centre back. She has this roll down!!
We were very satisfied at the effort our girls gave and we can't ask for more. We'll keep at it and keep improving!!
Thanks to Moneygall for a sporting game and thanks to Bobby O'Connor for reffing.
