Ballymackey u12 girls continued their impressive form with a good away win in Lough Derg. Played on their state of the art Astro pitch Ballymackey made a bright start with the Lough Derg keeper making some good saves in the opening few minutes. Ballymackey were rewarded for their early pressure as Kellie O'Dwyer opened the scoring with the aid of a deflection in the 6th minute having been denied a couple of times early on. Mioda O'Shea doubled the advantage in the 10th minute and struck a fabulous volley in the 15th minute to settle all early post Christmas nerves and make it 3-0 to the visitors. Lough Derg came back into it and had some chances but Sarah Youngs goal remained untroubled for the 1st half.

Aileen Moroney donned the goalkeeper shirt for the 2nd half and made some good saves as Lough Derg started the 2nd half strongly. 5 minutes in however, Kellie O'Dwyer scored again with a calm finish to the bottom corner. Lough Derg got a deserved goal back following good pressure on a Ballymackey kick out to make it 4-1. Sadhb Connolly effectively put the game to rest in the 13th minute with a "sure I meant it" finish with her knee following more good Ballymackey attack play. Lough Derg pulled another goal back before Kellie O'Dwyer bagged her hatrick and Seonaid McGuigan completed the job following a great cross by Anna Lee. A great performance by the entire 15 girl squad this morning which comprised of: Sarah Young, Jenna Hackett, Lisa Fitzgerald, Aileen Moroney, Ella Frend (Capt), Mioda O'Shea, Kellie O'Dwyer, Anna Lee, Anna Paxman, Seonaid McGuigan, Hannah Walsh, Grace Quinn, Sadhb Connolly, Jane Hall and Aisling Kennedy.
