Ballymackey U15 faced a tough task as circumstances dictated we had to take to the field 3 players short away to Borrisokane. Against the odds the girls lead 1-0 at half time and kicked on in the second half to win 3-0. An outstanding collective performance with the girls dominating possession in the match and playing outstanding football. We had 3 cracking goals to Boot, Abbie O Dwyer opened the scoring with a powerful drive to the net. Our second was a super team move Kelsey Hogan surging forward down the right crossing to Abbie O Dwyer who laid the ball back to Devlyn Spillane to score from outside the box. Quick thinking by Tess O Donovan saw her score by looking for a corner short and finishing with aplomb from the corner of the box. It goes without saying when you play short 3 players and win that all players have played out of their skin with huge work rate, but composure on the ball and keeping possession of the ball is what won this game for the girls. Our Back 3 of Maeve Steed, Tess O Donovan and Kelsey Hogan get a special mention, they defended fantastically and were a huge part of our attack. Maeve and Kelsey raided down the flanks and Tess pushed forward down the middle. Maeve just shades the Player of the match honours but we had 8 absolute HEROS on the day in Phoebe Sage, Tess, Maeve, Kelsey, Devlyn, Abbie, Chloe Whyte and Caoimhe Delaney
